Chelsea’s Purple Rose Theatre Presents Jeff Daniels: Onstage & Unplugged

The Purple Rose Theatre Company will present Jeff Daniels’ Onstage & Unplugged for a limited six-show engagement from tonight, December 27 through Monday, December 31, 2012. (Editors’ Note: Please find a full performance / pricing schedule on page 2). All performances will be at The Purple Rose Theatre Company, 137 Park Street, Chelsea, MI 48118.

A prolific songwriter as well as playwright, Daniels (PRTC Executive Director and Founder) will perform an arsenal of songs that are alternately humorous and poignant. Daniels has toured nationally with his music, but has reduced his concert appearances since landing the lead role on HBO’s acclaimed series The Newsroom. “Jeff’s got an incredibly busy schedule now, so we’re honored that he’s able to fit in these concerts during his holiday break,” says PRTC Artistic Director Guy Sanville. Jeff will be joined by special guests Brad Phillips and Jed Fritzemeier, the Ben Daniels Band and Luc “The Roadie” Daniels and his Big Bay Shuffle for both New Year’s Eve performances. A special event ticket price of $250 for the 8:00 p.m. show on New Year’s Eve will include dinner, celebratory drinks, special guests and prizes.

In 1976, I bought a Guild D-40 from Herb David’s Guitar Studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan, threw it in the back of my old Buick, and moved to New York City. That guitar led me to a creative outlet, became a solace, my church, a road into the artist I didn’t know existed. I put every song I ever wrote into a big, black notebook.
