ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan native Jeff Daniels is getting ready to perform two shows – one of them already sold out – at The Ark in Ann Arbor. The actor/producer/comedian just finished filming the final season of “The Newsroom” and his return to “Dumb and Dumber To” 20 years after the first film was a box office hit. In addition, Daniels said the Purple Rose Theatre, which he owns and operates in Chelsea, Mich., is going strong.
“If they don’t have a great night, we failed,” Daniels said in an exclusive interview. “We start with making sure that from the moment we walk out it’s entertaining and that they can relate to it. They’re going to get humor, but they’re also going to get music. A lot of the stuff we’re going to do on the tour are songs that need a band. That’s why getting the Ben Daniels Band is just thrilling for me. Usually I’m out there with an acoustic guitar with Brad Phillips on mandolin.”
