Stormy weather fails to put a damper on terrific second night of Ann Arbor Folk Festival

Evidently folkies are hardy bunch. Another full house Saturday for the second night of the 37th annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival proved it takes more than a snow, rain and ice storm to stop the show.

“You made it,” exclaimed emcee Seth Walker, looking out over the crowd.

The event is the main fundraiser for The Ark, Ann Arbor’s not-for-profit folk, acoustic music venue.

In 1976, I bought a Guild D-40 from Herb David’s Guitar Studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan, threw it in the back of my old Buick, and moved to New York City. That guitar led me to a creative outlet, became a solace, my church, a road into the artist I didn’t know existed. I put every song I ever wrote into a big, black notebook.
